It seems the “Paperboy” became the “PaperMan” over the last 15 years or so, not real sure how or why? Ever notice making money ideas for kids have all but disappeared over the last decade or so? So what are kids to do these days to make extra money?
10 Year Olds Want to Make Money
I have a daughter who is 10 years old and I can tell the need or desire to make money or at least have some extra cash is a lot stronger today than I was 10 or 12 years old. So if the demand for making some extra cash is stronger, where is all the opportunity? I mean my kid is always trying to earn money doing something. One time she bet she could get a wad of gum out of the carpet for 20 bucks! It’s all about dollar signs it seems…$$
I always see these guys in groups of 3 or so pull up to houses with about 30k dollars in “lawn” equipment to mow some old lady’s yard, what the hell happen to Bobby down the street with push mower anyway? I mean back when I was a teenager making money wasn’t all the tough.
Making Money When I Was a Kid
Baling hay was one way to make money for a kid where I lived but now it seems all the farmers use round balers and don’t hire many teenage kids anymore. Getting a job isn’t the best way to make money for kids either as there are laws and the problems that arise with getting to work before your old enough to drive.
I guess the old stand by of allowance is still around but I don’t think thats a great way to make money for kids either and it doesn’t do a lot for the families economy either.
Opportunities for Kids Making Money
I was curious and wanted to do this post to see if other people have noticed how the opportunities to make money for kids have seemed to dwindle almost out of sight completely. Are kids making money where you live?

Someone has to have some ideas on this one. Please tell me I’m not the only one who has noticed there are hardly any money making opportunities for kids today that seemed plentiful 10 years ago.
I’m always hearing “kids don’t want to work today” and I have to say this has not been my experience at all.
