I can assure you there will be advertisers if you pick a popular in demand industry to build an audience around. The audience part is where the work is and that is what you’ll have to to if you want to be successful at making money in this way.

Well get them all coming to one place and make sure that place talks about what they are interested in or they likely won’t come. Once you have done this the start contacting advertisers or use google adsense or something like that.
Starting a blog is a successful way to build an audience and it is one way I’ve used myself. It doesn’t cost much if anything to get started but it does take work.
